Home Sweet Chamberpot?

My life is so gross! I also thought of titling this entry "Down in the dumps". For the last two days Stratton has been sick and had diarrhea and I ended up having to rinse out his underwear twice because he didn't make it to the bathroom in time. Ugh! (But I am grateful that those are the only accidents he's had since he's been potty trained, which has been since he turned three.) So then I needed to bleach the sinks. I did this yesterday morning while Cratey was taking a bath. I finished cleaning the bathrooms and went back in to my bathroom to wash Creighton and get him out and found him standing next to the toilet with two big logs of poo on the floor between the tub and the toilet. ARGH!!
And as if that isn't enough, Cratey is making all the signals that say he's ready to be potty trained. So we bought him pull ups and have been starting having him use the potty. But he wants to do it about every 15 minutes. And he never does anything! I take it back - he usually does just one little toot and then jumps off and about sticks his head in, trying to see it. But he's taken off his diaper many times and peed on the floor once and in his bed repeatedly!
And we won't even go into Keelian and all the extra laundry I'm doing because of her!
Let me just say that being a stay-at-home mom is not for the fainthearted! This tests me like nothing I've ever experienced at college or working. I had to clean up throw up yesterday too (can you say, dry heaves?) And I'm not even getting paid or recognition for this (well, not in the way most people want or expect it). If I didn't believe so strongly in the importance of motherhood and the role mothers play in shaping their children's futures, then yesterday would have been a throw in the towel day!

  1. that sounds like a crappy situation. but you know its your "doody" as a mother to do that and not make a stink about it. youve got "toilet" you kids grown up on their own. down let this time go to waste.
